Hammer of the Year
|
Mods firstly can we please have a Who Poll put up for it, lets get back to having some regularity in this place...
We have such a number of players that are in contention, there are a coupke of stand out players but is there one who can honeslty say he is walking away with it this year?
Noble Payet Kouyate Antonio Adrian Ogbonna Collins Cresswell
Everyone one of them can make a good claim to it.
For me though I think it has to go to Noble.

I'll knock two off for you:
Ogbonna hasn' t played nearly enough and is arguably not first choice and Cresswell has been inconsistent.
n.b. This is NOT slagging off these players, just being hyper-critical in order to narrow down the field.

There are plenty of players who deserve it and in other seasons would easily take the award, but does anyone seriously think Payet won't win it?

Payet by a mile.
But behind him, there's so many players who could lay a claim.
Antonio will probably be runner up. Outstanding season from him, and last night's goal will stick in people's memory.

For me, it's Payet to win with Ginge and Noble on the rostrum in no particular order.

Nobes gets his testimonial. Hammer of the Decade.
This season, it has to be Payet.

Surface you just ruled out Ogbonna for not playing enough and not being considered first choice
Then you give the nod to Collins who's played less than Ogbonna and wasn't first choice when Reid and Ogbonna are fit?

I love Payet, but he's not my HOTY.
It's out of Antonio, Noble and Ginge for me. If Bilic could win it, it'd be him though. The change in mentality and approach is a million miles from the usual underachieving we've been accustomed to over the years.

Collins has played more games than Ogbonna.

And, bar being rested for some cup games, Collins has been picked for every game he has been available since he regained his place in the team early in he season.

Shows how good we've been that no one has even mentioned LANZINI yet.
If Antonio is (rightly) in the running for his contributions since getting in the team in December, LANZINI has to be. The boy is absolutely mustard

No. That's league starts. Not appearances ('Ogbonna has played more')
You seem to have decided to leave out cup games and Europe for some reason.
Why not just admit you're wrong?
